Sept 1 (Mon) - Burnt Bridge Creek - Frenchman's Bar - Class A/B
The short A level ride is an out and back on the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail.
It is 16 miles long with scenic views. The B level ride follows this with
17 more miles and stops at Vancouver Lake and Frenchman's Bar on the Columbia,
eating lunch at one of them. The total route has 850 feet of ascent.

Sept 3 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B
Wednesday morning hikers meet each week at Friendly House ... but how much
do you know about it and the surrounding neighborhood? Come trek and learn
as Ken Kane leads an interpretive hike of that part of northwest Portland.
You'll find out about Portland's only world's fair ... and where Joe DiMaggio
played ball ... and where he went for a post-game plate of pasta.

Sept 10 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B
Brook Gutman, assisted by Gretchen Holden, will lead a hike in the Multnomah
Village area of SW Portland. This is about a 2 1/2 hour hike
with small hills, no major elevation gains, along the way. Lunch on deck
at O'Connors.
Please be ready to depart at 9:45 am in Multnomah
Village at the Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR 97219
in the parking lot off of Capitol Hwy, below the main building and basketball
courts. Starbucks is across the street. Rest rooms available at the MAC.
Hike quiet residential streets to Gabriel Park. Proceed to Custer Park in
Hillsdale, returning to Multnomah Village.
May be someone to redirect people at the usual meeting place at Friendly House IF we can find a volunteer.

Sept 11 (Thu) Mt Angel Oktoberfest Bike – Class A-
A short fun ride to Mt Angel and Oktoberfest. The ride will be about 14-20
miles with time to ambulate Oktoberfest. We will enter Mt Angel on Church
street from the West to minimize traffic. Most of the ride will be on very
lightly travelled roads. Even though this is a short ride allow plenty of
time for the Oktoberfest.

Sept 13 (Sat) Hike to Nesika Lodge - Class B
Ever wondered what's above Multnomah Falls? Come with us and find out!
We'll hike through lush temperate rainforest, along Multnomah Creek part
of the way, passing many waterfalls, on our way to the Trails Club of Oregon's
Nesika Lodge for lunch and a tour of the grounds. This hike will qualify
participants for Club membership, if they wish to sign up. Hike approx.
8 miles round trip with 1,800-2,000 feet elevation gain, and drive 48 miles

include remolding the Men’s restroom, cleaning, moving wood and several
odd jobs that need to be accomplished this Fall. Paul Snively will be the

Sept 13-14 (Sat-Sun) Indian Heaven Loop Exploratory Backpack - Class B
We’ll explore the Indian Heaven Wilderness, with its many lakes in the Washington
South Cascades. Our trailhead will be at the Cultus Creek Campground, and
when we enter the wilderness we will multiple options at to where to explore
and camp. Area is known for its lakes and also for mosquitoes, but hopefully
by going in September most will be gone. Distance in will be between 4-5
miles depending on where we end up and about 1700 feet of elevation gain.

Sept 14 (Sun) Covered Bridges Bicycle - Class B
We may be doing two groups this year. The long route includes all five covered bridges in the area and is about 47 miles. The shorter route will visit four bridges and is about 34 miles. All of these bridges are still in daily use.
We will have lunch at the County wayside adjacent to one of the bridges, and next to a swimming hole. The objective is to enjoy the covered bridges and the countryside as a group. This ride may be an all day event, as this is a leisurely trip with lots of stops.

Sept 20 (Sat) Gunsight Butte Hike - Class B

Sept 20 (Sat) Bald Mt and Ponds below McNeil Point Hike - Class B
We’ll hike up to the Pacific Crest and Timberline Trail using the Top Spur
Trail to the area around Bald Mountain and the northwest side of Mount Hood.
After going round to the scenic south side of Bald Mountain, we’ll climb
up a scenic ridge overlooking Mount Hood and end up at seasonal ponds below
McNeil Point. If the weather is clear, we should have fantastic views of
the west face of Mount Hood. Round trip miles will be approximately 7 miles
with 1700 feet of elevation gain.
If you plan on attending the Hike and Dine at Tyee, please register with
Lodge Host.
Register with leader before 9:00 PM on Thursday Sept. 18th
as this hike goes into the Mt. Hood Wilderness and the group must be held
to 12 hikers.
Depart from the Gateway Transit Center at 8:30.

With a visit to Tyee Lodge, this hike meets all membership requirements.
Old growth hike along the Salmon River 4 miles round trip 100 ft. el. gain.
This is a short way off Hwy 26 in the Zigzag area
A nice stop on the way to Tyee for the Hike & Dine dinner that evening and/or to stay overnight
(Tyee Hike & Dine Sept. 20-21 information below for reservations).
Or you can just visit Tyee Lodge after the hike.

Sept 20-21 (Sat-Sun) Tyee Hike and Dine
Jim Flick will be our cook/host for dinner. The menu will be green salad,
roasted chicken breasts, roasted vegetables with pesto sauce, white rice,
and apple pie. Black bean burgers are available for vegetarians. Cost is
$9 for dinner, and $3 breakfast, day use lodge fee $2, nonmember overnight
$15, member $10. Lodge will be open by 10:00 a.m. on Sat.

Sept 22 (Mon) North Plains Bike Ride - Class A-B
We will ride from North Plains to the end of Dairy Creek Road through fairly
flat country. The roads have little traffic and the scenery is beautiful
farmland ending at the crossing of Dairy Creek. This ride is about 25 miles.
Depart: We will meet at the North Plains McDonald just off Hwy 26. Please
